Height of Elevation / Height Gage
It is essential to calculate the gauge height / height of total elevation to learn the proper pump application.
gauge height is calculated by summing the suction head, the discharge height and load losses in meters.
Suction height : height between the water level and pumping the pump. discharge height : Height Desda the pump to the highest point of the drain hose. Losses : The resistance of hoses / tubing. Essentially narrower longer hoses, and / or twisted stem further losses.

Relationship Flow
The flow rate ratio is the maximum amount of water that can be pumped at a given time. The ratio of the flow rate of a given motor-pump can be calculated through the pump performance curve such as shown in the example of WB20. By knowing the maximum elevation to which is to be pumped, can be traced on the value curve and determine if the pump has a flow rate ratio of su cient for our needs.

Glossary
Pressure
The pressure is the force per unit area, usually given in bars. Pressure and head height are directly connected when referring to a pump performance. If we connect a pressure gauge at the bottom of a vertical tube filled with 30 m of clean water, we measure a pressure of 2.99 bar. Note that the pipe diameter does not affect the value of the pressure. In short, the pressure at the pump outlet will indicate to us how high the water can get under the load losses.
Impeller
An impeller is a rotating disk coupled to the engine crankshaft vanes. All centrifugal pumps have an impeller. Implusor vanes drive the liquid out of the centrifugal force, causing a change in pressure. This change in pressure causes the liquid out of the pump.
Cuba
The tank is stationary body that houses the impeller. The trough collects and directs the flow of fluid from the impeller and increases the water pressure at high speeds fl ui that the vanes of the impeller.
Self-priming
Most of the centrifugal pump, it is necessary that the pump body is full of water before pumping can begin. “Self-priming” is a term used to describe pumps which have the ability to purge the air from the pump body and create partial vacuum, which allows starting immediately draw water through the suction hose. All Honda pumps are self-priming type.
Mechanical seal
It is a spring retainer composed of several parts and seals the rotating impeller in the water pump body, preventing entry of water into the engine, which would cause you harm. Mechanical seals are subject to wear pumping if water containing abrasives and quickly heats the pump is running without water pumping chamber. The Honda motor pumps for dirty water containing mechanical seals in silicon carbide, designed to withstand abrasive conditions.
