GWS Expansion Vessel

ThermoWave™ expansion vessels are specially designed for use in potable water heating applications.

Many homes and buildings have hot water heating systems to provide hot water for washing, cooking, bathing, etc. As water is heated, it also expands, and this expansion increases the pressure in the system and can cause serious damage.

Most systems use a relief valve that is installed to relieve the volume of water that has expanded, thus preventing the system from exceeding the maximum operating pressure. Unfortunately, this wastes energy, as the volume of hot water that has been relieved must be replaced and heated again. In order to accommodate the expansion of water safely and save energy, GWS offers the ThermoWave™ series of expansion vessels. ThermoWave™ vessels perform their function safely, absorbing the expanded volume, avoiding wasted water and energy, in addition to maintaining the operating pressure of the system at safe levels.

The ThermoWave™ series uses a high-grade chlorine butyl diaphragm and virgin polypropylene liner to ensure the potability of your water.
