ALL HONDA MOTOR PUMPS ARE SELF-PRIMING TYPE
 The pump body must be full of water before pumping can begin. Self-priming is a term often used to describe pumps that have the ability to purge air from the pumping body and create a partial vacuum, which makes it possible to immediately start drawing water through the suction hose (up to 3m), to heights of up to 7 meters it is recommended to use a downhole valve. All Honda motor pumps have this feature.
