DPD Reagents are a colorimetric method based on N-Diethyl-pphenylenediamine which, when coming into contact with the water sample, reacts by turning magenta in proportion to the concentration of chlorine in the water.
DPD tablet reagents are white and have a crystalline appearance.
When a DPD reagent tablet is not white, but gray/brown in color, this reagent cannot be used.
